Bath only once a week to save water, says Minister of Water and Sanitation

In an attempt to help the country save water, concerned Minister of Water and Sanitation Ms. Nomvula Mokonyane on Tuesday morning advised South Africans to try as much as they can to save water.

“South Africa is facing a very difficult time at the moment, we are not getting enough rain and dams are running dry. We urge all South Africans to save water. We request all South Africans to bath only once a week until our dams have enough water.” She said.

“When I was a kid, bath-time was a once-a-week affair. We weren’t an unhygienic family – this is just how most of us lived in the 1960s, and I do not remember any horrific body odors resulting from it. By the time I was an adult, I was showering every day. With hindsight, I should have stuck to the old ways”, said a man from Limpopo to support the Minister’s request.
