Award winning rapper Ricky Rick says he should have listened to Economic Freedom Fighters president and Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema when he told him not to join Mabala Noise.
“Julius Malema was right, I shouldn’t have joined those guys. They wanted me to sell my soul for money and when I said no things started going wrong,” he said.
Ricky Rick announced on Monday morning that his relationship with Mabala Noise has come to an end.
Ricky Rick also took to Twitter with a series of tweets explaining why he left the politically connected music stable.
“You Can’t Sell Your Soul bro… It doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to God.”
“I’m begging all you talented kids out there. Don’t go the road I had to go. Pave your own way. Don’t anybody try steal your movement.”

“The world is ready for us to be ourselves. I didn’t think its time but you all encouraged me with all your emails and tweets. Let’s rebuild.”
“After long prayer and conversation with God, I am no longer part of Mabala Noise [sic] Blessings to everyone there. Thank you for the love,” he wrote on Twitter
When aporoached for comment Mabala Noise PR manager Hloni ‘Mhlo’ Gumede said “Riky is still a part of Mabala Noise. We cannot control what Riky says on social media but he has signed a contract that is valid for the next 3 years.”
Julius Malema joined the fray with a tweet. “I know @rikyrickworld and @MAJORLEAGUEDJZ personally & I had advised them against joining the corrupt @Mabala_Noise even at the beginning”
