The Vodacom Durban July is about the glitz, glam, fashion, marquees, parties and exclusivity as much as it is about the horses – or maybe more about everything else than the horses.
Every year after the first weekend of July millions of morning after pills get sold out at multiple pharmacies in Durban and this year it was different as it was announced on Monday that Morning after pills in Durban were officially sold out in just one weekend.
This was revealed when Clicks South Africa’s leading pharmacy, health and beauty retailer with 500 stores and 390 in-store dispensaries released a report on Monday from it’s head office in CLICKS GROUP LIMITED: Cnr. Searle and Pontac Streets in Cape Town, stating that morning after pills in a number of pharmacies in Durban were officially sold out.
According to the statement released Clicks collects data from data such as age and residence before selling morning after pills to customers and it appears that majority of the customers are not even residing in Durban according to the data collected by the pharmacy over the weekend.
According to a store manager who didn’t want to be named in one of the pharmacies in Durban, this came as no surprise at all because during this one weekend of the year morning pills are always flying off the shelves despite the fact that we always stock 3 times more than our usual quantity.
“Sometimes we even have to turn some customers away because the pills would be sold out earlier than expected.” added the manager.
